Who doesn’t love a good movie! There is nothing better than curling up on your favourite couch with a huge bowl of popcorn, some pillows and a fuzzy blanket, close friends or family, and a great movie. Well, this month, why not take things up a notch and host an Oscar movie night?

Instead of your usual PJ's or sweats, have everyone show up on the red carpet dressed to the hilt! You can grab your video camera and interview your guests about where they bought those fabulous earrings, and what designer they chose to do their dress and who they predict will be the winners of the night.

My March project adds a bit of Hollywood movie glamour to help enhance your decor. First use a gold and silver colour palette to set the mood. Your appetizers can be simple, but try and keep them bite sized - people like to graze at the table during these kinds of events.

It’s great to get people involved and by letting them cast their ballot there is an instant activity that they can participate in.  Maybe have a fun gift to give to the winners.  You might be able to find a fun inexpensive statue that you could spray paint gold and give as an Oscar to the one who picks “best picture!"

Have fun with it and think Hollywood style! Transport yourself, your friends and family to Hollywood for the night!
