Spring is such a beautiful time of the year. This is the one time I actually will deviate from my neutral/warm color theme and start inviting some cheerful pastels into my styling.

What a wonderful time to bring the outdoors in! I love filling my home with fresh smelling lilies, decadent hydrangeas, and cheerful buttercups. A lot of my style inspirations come from nature and this is a perfect time of the year to indulge, as it’s free! Looking at the diversity in color, texture, and shape that nature offers, I try and bring those similar elements into my styling.

There's something very visually stimulating when you mix different textures, shapes and colors. It's a feast for the eyes. In my April project, I really wanted to mix things up for my Easter egg centerpieces. I used different sized eggs, and mixed the type of eggs from smooth wood to crackled styrofoam. I also varied the size of the designs. Please note I kept them all monochromatic, using the same palette whether pink, purple or blue but used various tones of the same color to create interesting color effects. The nests add another layer of texture. These nests can be placed on pedestals to vary the height and you can add like-colored accessories such as flowers, crystals, and birds to your nests.

My children love the beauty of the eggs, and love looking at them as a centerpiece on the table.

So why should nature have all the fun? Learn from her playful side and get creative with your next tabletop setup!
