Easter Decorating
By Susie Coelho
Easter is another holiday that I love. The colors are lovely, warm, and inviting. For me, it’s all about the wonderment of children seeing the Easter Bunny, searching for eggs, playing games, and running on the grass. I love the children’s beautiful frocks and hats with fresh flowers on them. I vividly remember Easter growing up; as for me, it was first all about the dress! My ritual each year was to go with my mom and buy a new Easter dress full with frills and a special hat. We would always decorate the hat with some fresh flowers.
I do the same now with my daughter and she has fond memories of Easter and being with Grandma, family, and friends.
Beware of your wardrobe, though. One year I was in a petting zoo with my son, happily petting the goats and rabbits and I turned around and found that I was stuck. Stuck to what? Turns out a goat had my floral dress in her mouth and was chewing away at it. It was a brand new dress that I had bought specially for the occasion. I could only laugh, as it was really pretty funny. The dress was long, flimsy soft fabric so I just knotted it up and went along with the day. The knot stayed there for years as I wore the dress to many occasions just like that and no one was the wiser!
