Krylon® Announces Fifth Annual Clear Choice Art Scholarship Program
Scholarships Available to U.S. and Canadian High School and College Students
CLEVELAND— For more than 60 years, Krylon®, inventor of the first aerosol clear coatings to preserve priceless artwork, has been the choice of fine artists for preserving their masterpieces. Now, Krylon is choosing to ensure the future of fine arts remains strong, as the company announces its Fifth Annual Clear Choice Art Scholarship Program. More than $11,000 in money, grants and art supplies will be awarded to future artists and their schools in 2013.
The top five applicants will be awarded a $1,000 scholarship and $70 worth of Krylon Artist Sprays and Adhesives to use in their work. As an added bonus, each winner’s high school also will receive a $500 grant to fund its art program, as well as a package of Krylon Artist Sprays and Adhesives worth approximately $250. Ten additional students and their high schools will receive gift packages.
“With tuition costs on the rise and art programs in secondary schools often subject to budget cuts, Krylon is proud to invite young artists to apply for one of the available Clear Choice Art Scholarships,” said Katherine Merkle, Krylon brand manager. “We’re excited to embark on the program’s fifth year, as investing in future artists and their dreams is a large part of our company’s heritage.”
The scholarship program is open to high school seniors and college freshmen and sophomores in the United States and Canada. Students are required to submit a portfolio, artist’s statement, letter of recommendation and transcripts in order to be considered for one of the available scholarships.
Applications are due by May 31, 2013, and recipients will be notified by July 31, 2013. To download the application form or for more information about the Krylon Clear Choice Art Scholarships, visit www.krylon.com/art.
