Krylon® Teams Up With Diy Experts For First-Ever Colormaster™ Challenge
Licensed Contractor and Host of DIY Network’s “I Hate My Bath,” Jeff Devlin, To Complete 24 Projects in 24 Hours during Live Event Using Krylon® ColorMaster™ Spray Paint
CLEVELAND—Krylon®, the nation’s leader in spray paint, teams up with Jeff Devlin, licensed contractor and host of DIY Network’s “I Hate My Bath” to complete 24 projects in 24 hours during Krylon’s first-ever ColorMaster™ Challenge. Devlin, along with a team of renowned home improvement and craft bloggers, will tackle everything from reinvented Mason jars to refurbished furniture pieces during this two-day online event.
“Krylon has mastered color, comfort and control with its new ColorMaster lineup,” said Katherine Merkle, Krylon brand manager. “Through this fun, interactive event, it’s our goal to help viewers see their true potential. It’s amazing what a can of spray paint and a little imagination can do in a short time—and we have 24 hours to prove it.”
The ColorMaster Challenge will stream live at colormaster24in24.krylon.com and takes place in two 12-hour installments on Friday, June 28 and Saturday, June 29 from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. EST – a total of 24 mind-blowing hours. During that time online viewers can watch Devlin tackle each project in real-time. He’ll also be sharing his own DIY tips and answering viewer questions live via social media. Simply tweet questions and comments to @KrylonBrand using the #24in24 hashtag, or post them to Facebook.com/KrylonBrand for a chance to interact with him directly during the two-day stretch.
“No project is too small – or too large – for the ColorMaster Challenge or for our talented host Jeff Devlin,” said Merkle. “Devlin’s DIY savvy makes it easy for viewers to join in on the fun. From beginner crafters to experienced weekend warriors, the ColorMaster Challenge has a project for everyone – encouraging do-it-yourselfers everywhere to push themselves and their imaginations further than they ever thought possible.”
For each project Devlin will be using Krylon ColorMaster with durable Covermax® technology, showcasing the new spray paint’s ability to deliver premium coverage, cleaner, crisper hues, more brilliant color and a smooth, durable finish. ColorMaster dries in just 10 minutes and is available in nearly 100 brilliant colors and finishes, including enamels, metallics, primers and clears and can be used on metal, wood, wicker and more.
For viewers who want to get in on the action while Devlin takes on each project, instructions can be viewed and downloaded prior to the event starting June 24. This gives participants time to gather project materials and prep for the online event. For those who wish to bring their own unique project idea to life, Krylon and Devlin encourage them to upload project images and instructions, anytime between June 28 and Sept. 1, to ProjectsInACan.com for a chance to win a $2,000 gift card or one of nine $500 weekly prizes.
Following the ColorMaster Challenge, all event projects, as well as unopened ColorMaster spray paint, will be donated to a local Habitat for Humanity ReStore. This non-profit home improvement store and donation center sells new and gently used furniture, home accessories and more at a fraction of the retail price. Proceeds from these sales will benefit Habitat for Humanity construction operations to build new homes for those in need.
Krylon ColorMaster with durable Covermax technology is available at local hardware stores, home centers, mass and craft stores. For retailer locations, visit www.krylon.com/locator.
