Krylon®'s New Fine Art Fixatif Invisibly Protects All Dry Media Without Dissolving Whites and Lights

Protect Art Without Sacrificing Color and Detail

CLEVELAND—Many fixatives on today’s market can drastically change the color and look of dry media, especially fragile pastels. They all dissolve pastel whites and light colors to some degree.  While most dissolve a moderate amount of color, some cause even more harm. The result is artists often having to invest time to add whites and lights back into their piece. In response to the need for a product that offers protection without compromising the work’s integrity, Krylon® has launched its Fine Art Fixatif.

Fine Art Fixatif allows artists to protect their art without sacrificing color or detail, while also saving them time and money on materials. This new premium fixative preserves the colors and intensity of pastel, charcoal, pencil, chalk and more. It invisibly safeguards dry media, including whites and light colors, from fading, smearing, dusting and smudging.

And unlike most fixatives, Fine Art Fixatif contains UV light absorbers and stabilizers, providing even more protection for an artist’s most important pieces. Additionally, it provides both workable and final protection. For example, it can be used in light coats for works in progress, as well as applied in several coats for long-lasting protection.

Fine Art Fixatif is part of Krylon’s new Gallery Series™ – a comprehensive line of the highest quality sprays designed to help artists protect, preserve and beautify their works and overall vision. The line also includes a Conservation Varnish, Conservation Retouch Varnish, Quick Dry for Oil Paintings and UV Archival Varnish.

The full line is now available at fine art and craft stores. Fine Art Fixatif is available in 11 oz. aerosol and retails for $12.99 to $15.99. For more information on the complete Gallery Series line, visit www.krylon.com.
