Rated 5 out of 5 by Jana Perfect For Chalkboard Signs
I used this to make back to school signs for pictures of my kids' first days at school. I applied on glass in a frame (no primer, just made sure glass was clean). I followed the instructions and applied several (5-6) thin coats waiting until dry between coats. It goes against my normal spray paint MO which is to cover in a thick coat then not wait and cover with another drippy thick coat and ruin everything. This time I wanted to get it right since I plan to write on a reuse the surface so I followed directions to the T. Turned out lovely! The signs are perfect!! I plan to apply additional costs as the years go by, as needed.

I spent $7.99 on a Krylon chalkboard aerosol paint from Michael's. Upon applyng the chalkboard paint to mdf plaques, the chalkboard paint sprayed out much too heavily for spray paint and proceede to dribble paint all over our work surface and mdf project, It was an utter mess, paint splatters everywhere! We are expereinced artisans and have never used such a terrible earosol paint product. I have used other brands aerosol chalkboard paint products with great success.

Purchased due to the ease of application. Sprayed a thin cost, then another after the 1st was dry. Sprayed 3 coats on another board just to see the difference and neither piece worked. Paint removed too easily when first "seasoned" with chalk. Scratches were visible and chalk did not easily remove from surface with soft cloth. Very disappointed.

I bought this paint from our local hardware store. It was extremely easy to use and looked great! ....until I went to write on it. I followed all of the instructing on the can, did 5 coats, waited 24 hrs to write, "seasoned" it with chalk, but nothing would write on this paint! I tried standard chalk and I tried the new chalk pencils. I went over and over the same letters TRYING to make it legible, and after an hour and a cramped wrist, you still can barely read it! Waste of time and money. I'm going to try some of the online recipes to make my own from people who have had GOOD results.
