General Supplies
- Hot glue or super glue
- Newspaper or drop cloth
Instructions
- Set up a spray area by covering a table or other work surface with newspaper or drop cloth in a well ventilated area.
- If using old or used containers, clean well before painting making sure they are free of dirt or grease.
- Paint containers and let dry. Use one color for the base and a coordinating color for the lid.
- Glue toy to container that identifies the ones being stored.
- Embellish containers using paint pens if wanted. Paint your child’s name, stars on space toy box, labels, etc.
- Give a protective finish with Crystal Clear Acrylic.
Ideas to Inspire
- Use various Krylon paint colors of your choice to compliment kid’s room or toys. For cardboard containers use Krylon Indoor/Outdoor paint. For plastic containers use Krylon Fusion paint.
- Use various Krylon Short Cuts Paint Pens to match colors. Black and white paint pens always work best if you want to label the storage containers.
Tips
- Use toys as inspiration — paint schemes such as camouflage pattern for an army men box, black with stars for space toys, scales for dinosaurs, and pink polk-a-dots for dolls. Use this idea for larger containers or toy boxes as well.
