Set up a spray paint area by covering your work space with a drop cloth. Make sure that the space is well-ventilated. Before beginning your project, read the Krylon® label for safety and application instructions, and follow them accordingly.

When you’re ready, disassemble the wheelbarrow. Separate the metal parts from the handles, wheel, and nuts/bolts. If the nuts and bolts are rusty, clean them up using the 100 grit sandpaper and degreaser/denatured alcohol, letting them dry completely.

Scrub the metal parts of the wheelbarrow with the wire brush to loosen the rust, dirt and debris. Then, wipe them down with a damp rag. Use a degreaser or denatured alcohol to remove any leftover dust, oil or grime. Let everything dry completely.

Spray down the metal parts of the wheelbarrow. For best results, apply light, even coats in a sweeping motion with slight overlap, starting and ending each stroke off the piece you’re spraying. After the final coat, let the wheelbarrow dry completely.
