Gloss Red Pepper

All paint should be used according to the manufacturer’s instructions.

Other Supplies You'll Need

A drop cloth
Coarse grit sandpaper
Medium grit sandpaper (optional)
Fine grit sandpaper (optional)
A damp rag
Newspaper, tin foil, or another covering material
Painter’s tape
Sturdy glue or similar contact adhesive
3 long magnetic strips
1 large sheet of plywood (square or rectangular)

Set up a spray paint area by covering your work space with a drop cloth. Make sure that the space is well-ventilated. Before beginning your project, read the Krylon® label for safety and application instructions, and follow them accordingly.

Sand the plywood with the 100 grit sandpaper. If you’d like a smoother finish, follow up with the medium and fine grit sandpapers. When you’re finished sanding, wipe the plywood down with a damp rag to remove any leftover dust and debris.

Cover the entire piece of plywood with your covering material, except for one taped-off rectangle. Make sure that only the rectangle you want to paint is exposed—any uncovered surface will likely catch some overspray.

It’s important to shake each Krylon® can for at least two minutes directly before you use it. Since you’ll be painting with the Fusion All-In-One® Gloss Red Pepper first, shake it thoroughly. Do this regularly throughout the painting process, to keep the paint flowing evenly. When it’s time to move on to the other sections, do the same to the cans of Fusion All-In-One® Gloss Hunter Green and Fusion All-In-One® Gloss Patriotic Blue.

Spray the open rectangle with Gloss Red Pepper. For best results, apply light, even coats in a sweeping motion with slight overlap, starting and ending each spray stroke off the open square of plywood. When the paint is dry to the touch, remove the tape to avoid any chipping or peeling. Once everything is completely dry, cover up the red rectangle and repeat the painting process for each of the other two rectangles, using the Gloss Hunter Green and Gloss Patriotic Blue. After the final coat, let the plywood dry completely.

Once the final rectangle is fully dry, secure one magnetic strip to each rectangle using the glue or similar contact adhesive. Allow the adhesive to bond completely, and then you’re ready to hang your tools. Say hello to an organized workspace!
