Not Chalk Paint
This product is marketed at Chalky paint but make no mistake, it doesn't have the same finish, consistency or dry time. I didn't realize until after I started painting so now I have to sand down and repurchase a true chalk paint. Do not purchase If you are used to using a chalk paint, you want to avoid the disappointment and the waste of funds.

It's NOT 'chalk' paint - Poor Branding
Chalk Paint & Chalky Paint are not the same. This review isn't about the quality of your product, it is about its intended end user.
When I purchased the Anvil Gray, I did read the label, "Chalky"; thought it was odd, but probably some copyright law uptake for Krylon's merchandising, NBD.
Big Deal. Anyone who has painted with chalk paint knows it is not just a paint job, it's a paint process. Its application is unlike latex paints, drys very quickly, often requires two coats for dramatic color changes, and includes a finishing product, usually wax, with the goal of creating something new and unique, less prep and more liberty than latex paint.
I've been painting for a long time with different brands and types and finishes of latex, oil, spray, stucco, cement, even stain.
IMHO, ChalkY paint is glorified, expensive, thick, built-in-primer paint. Yes, it is a hobby paint, but the fact that it doesn't need a finishing project to complete the process is the very thing that equates it to any other water based latex paint.
It's okay if Krylon wants to jump on the DIY bus, but please don't insult us enthusiasts, or beginners for that matter, by calling it something it is not. It's too misleading and will lend to disappointment and loss of consumers who have come to trust the Krylon Brand.

Very bad chalky paint
I always used rustoleum chalk paint.At this time the stores were out of it.So I was at lowes and they said this was the one brand they had big mistake.Am on my 4fh coat and it is still bleeding through.I did many pieces of furniture over the years this is very bad.

Wish I had checked reviews first!
I was struggling to find white chalk paint in my town and I decided to try this with out checking reviews first. Big mistake! I am afraid my project (a desk hutch custom made for my daughter) may never look that way I want it to. I have painted, waxed (horrible finish!!!) and now repainted - with wax still showing through as a dull gray mark! I am so frustrated with this paint. And of course because I have almost had to use the entire container I am sure there is no refund possible. The paint is not at all the normal consistency of chalk paint and the wax was basically like a muddy stain. Do not make my mistake! Do not buy!

Should have read reviews first
I lightly sanded the wood and had the same issue as everyone else. Very disappointed with the coverage. I am painting dark would so I knew it would need at least a 2nd coat, but it still doesn't look good or even after 3. I think I've wasted my time and money.

First DIY Project
I used this to paint the tops of my two nightstands. It was easy to apply and the end result is nice. I used two coats because the original color was a darker wood laminate. I wish the color was a little darker and closer to what is shown on the can; in reality it’s more of an off white, which will still match my decor so I’m not upset about it.

Disappointed
This is the worst chalky finish paint I have used. It did not cover in the first coat. The first coat shrunk so a second coat was needed and that wanted to lift the first coat. I’ve used chalky finish paint for multiple projects with no problems often with 1 coat. This is horrible!!!

Disappointed
I’m redoing a table as we speak. I can’t believe this paint is so difficult to work with. Takes to long to dry, coverage is really bad and bleeds through everywhere. Direction say no prep. NO TRUE!! Hope Lowe’s will take it back are I’ll be out 20.00.
