In a well-ventilated space, cover a flat surface with a drop cloth or tarp.
-
Before starting the project, read the Krylon labels for safety, application, and dry time instructions.
-
In a separate area from where you will paint, ensure the surfaces of the paddles are clean, dull, and dry. Use medium grit sandpaper to remove any uneven surface if necessary and then wipe clean of any debris.
-
Use 's tape to cover the top two thirds of the paddles and the handles. To achieve the triangle design, make sure the tape on the top third of the paddles comes to a “V” shape at the bottom.
-
Paint the exposed area of the paddles (this will be the bottom third of the paddle). To achieve the pictured look, paint one of the paddles with COLORmaxx in Gloss Sun Yellow and one with COLORmaxx in Gloss Hunter Green.
-
Once the bottom third of the paddle is dry to the touch, remove the painter’s tape from only the middle third of the paddle.
-
Once the bottom third section of the paddles is fully dry, tape off this area.
-
Spray the middle section of the paddles using COLORmaxx in Gloss True Blue.
-
Once COLORmaxx Gloss True Blue is dry to the touch, remove the tape from only the top third section of the paddles, leaving the bottom section taped.
-
Once COLORmaxx Gloss True Blue is fully dry, tape off the middle section of the paddles.
-
Spray the top section of the paddles using COLORmaxx in Gloss Sun Yellow on one paddle and Gloss Hunter Green on the other (the opposite color of what was used on the bottom third for each paddle).
-
Remove all tape when the top sections of each paddle are dry to the touch.
-
Once the paddles are fully dry, mount them on the wall for nautical décor around the house or cabin!
