In a well-ventilated area, place old stools on a hard, flat surface protected by a drop cloth or tarp.
-
Unscrew the cushion from the top of the stool and set it aside for later.
-
Remove any flakey paint or rust from the stool to create a clean, dry, and dull surface prior to painting.
-
Read the can label for proper application and safety instructions. Spray 2 to 3 coats of Krylon® ColorMaster® Paint + Primer in Gloss Sun Yellow on the entire stool. Allow it to fully dry.
-
Grab the cushions previously set aside and fabric. Cut enough fabric to completely cover the entire face of the cushion and the sides. Excess fabric can always be cut off later, it is better to have excess than not enough!
-
Before you begin stapling make sure to only apply staples on the bottom of the cushion. Pull the fabric tightly and start stapling the fabric down on opposite sides of the bottom of the cushion so it lays tightly. Then, make your away around the cushion with staples to secure the fabric.
-
After the fabric is secure cut off all excess fabric.
-
Screw the cushion back onto the base of the stool.
-
Repeat these steps for each stool.
-
For an added pop of color, paint planters with Krylon® ColorMaster® Paint + Primer in Gloss Watermelon.

Enjoy your new summer stools!
